The Hands of Bresson is a film blog operated by Damon Smith, a New York-based writer and editor of Michael Winterbottom: Interviews (University Press of Mississippi 2010). He has written features, profiles, and reviews for The Boston Globe, Time Out New York, Reverse Shot, Filmmaker magazine, Cinema Scope, Senses of Cinema, Bright Lights Film Journal, and many other publications. Several of his interviews with notable writer-directors appear in the anthology Action!: Director Interviews from Classical Hollywood to Contemporary Iran (Anthem Press, 2009), edited by Gary Morris. He’s also co-producer of two original series, Talkies and Direct Address, at Reverse Shot Video.
